Projects | Hali Beckman, Ltd.
Working with Hali has been such a great experience – truthfully, as stunning as the finished gardens are; I am sorry that it finished so quickly – looking for another project!!
Hali Beckman Ltd. re-imagined the landscaping at our home… the original landscaping was created in around 1890 by Frederick Law Olmstead; so, as one might imagine, revamping the work of Olmstead was no small task. Hali mixed 1800’s style with a new re-imagining for this decade have given our Queen Anne Victorian home a distinctive yet classic Newport look.
A 6 acre property that had drainage issues, overgrown planting beds, unhealthy trees and grass and a pool area that needed substantial hardscape improvements. You turned our property into such a stunning site! …Grateful for your thorough coordination with all the subcontractors… and persistent follow-up enabling our project to be completed on time.
Who would think that it was nearly impossible to fit a tennis court on a 10 acre estate??? If only your customers could imagine the challenges that seemed insurmountable until you were engaged for this project. As we are nearing completion, I must list them because I can’t believe that your design and intuition allowed for such beauty amidst the following:
A 25’ drop in elevation in the area designated for the tennis court; An existing septic system and leaching field directly under the proposed new tennis court; Over 20 apple trees that had to be relocated to another part of the property; Miles of irrigation, electric and AC lines under the area that we excavated; The necessity to design and build a 122’ long, 8’ tall and 18 inch wide retaining wall; New AC, septic and irrigation systems, all relocated; A new service entrance for my groundskeeper, tennis court maintenance, garbage removal and AC folks, which included a successful application for a curb cut; Approval from Coastal Resources, DEM, and the town of Westerly in record time!
Hali, I can’t thank you enough for your immediate attention to my project, and the beauty that resulted here at “The Timbers”.
